Are you a certified Millwright looking to join a “best in class” maintenance team? We are hiring for multiple Millwrights to join our sawmill operations located on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC.

- Value Added Division, Chemainus
*$7000 Signing Bonus & Relocation Assistance Available*
What We Offer:
- Unionized positions with starting wages ranging between $45.84 - $49.28/hour depending on the site, per the respective collective agreements.
- Hourly premiums of $0.60/hour on shifts that are outside the recognized day shift.
- Benefits and pension are provided through the union.
- Safe work environment.
Shifts: Shifts vary based on site but could be days, afternoons, graveyards or weekends and could change at any time depending on seniority and operational needs. Please inquire within to learn more.
These positions are considered safety sensitive, all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Repairing or replacing mechanical components & machinery;
- Rigging and slinging;
- Troubleshooting mechanical machinery;
- Welding repairs;
- Hot work and lock out protocols;
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems;
- Performing other preventative maintenance processes that pertain to optimum mechanical performance of our facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates must be Red Seal Certified or hold valid BC or Alberta Journeyman Millwright Certification;
- Preference will be given to those with sawmill experience;
- Excellent safety record and strong work ethic;
- Highly motivated team player with excellent time management skills;
- Creative and innovating thinking, logical problem solving, and a desire to participate in an organization committed to continuous improvement; and,
- Accountable and dependable.
