Industrial Millwright

Our company does fabrication of decorative tempered flat glass products and injected molded products, primarily for the appliance and furniture markets. 

The Millwright is a member of the maintenance team and as such, participates in team efforts to achieve assigned department goals, and works closely with other team members to ensure all maintenance activities.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Practice safe working procedures and comply with code
  • Use personal protective equipment with lockout / isolation procedures as required
  • Perform maintenance, service, overhaul, and repair
  • New construction
  • Machine set-up and installation
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Construct foundations for machinery
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
  • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
  • Coach and instruct apprentices

 

Qualifications:

  • Ontario or Inter-Provincial 433A Industrial Millwright Certificate of Qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Licensed Millwright
  • Able to work shift rotations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice – manufacturing is ever-changing, and flexibility is key
